Mysteria
Description: 109 objects, approx 9,000,000 polygons. How I managed with the 9,000,000 polygons is out of the question. It became frustratingly slow in bryce, but I still managed somehow. This is another one of my landscapes but with my light ray experiments. Diffuse glow and a bit of colour correction was used in photoshop 7, but everything else is bryce made. I also edited the picture abit to make it look semi-painted(well, to me it looks sort of painted), and gave those light rays a boost with the diffuse glow. I find it looks better like this, with the large amounts of light, but then it's all a matter of taste.

Nice composition and great lighting (your ?branding?). Trees seem to be straight out the lab. What are those ?burgler bars? in the background supposed to be?. The grass looks great, where does it come from? Leaves and grass blades make up that horrendous number of polygones, I suspect. And, yes, the mushroom could do with a bit of smoothing. This pic has a great potential you haven't yet exhausted.

answers..

Since this picture is very much leaning towards the fantasy side of things, the burgler bars are basically huge woods which tower over the area. Basically they're keeping this little place hidden from people. The grass is from a webpage which gives you free plants, grass, vines, etc. www.3dplants.com is the address.

The mushroom indeed needed some smoothing out, I just didn't seem to remember to do that in Photoshop. Also the polygons are coming from the amount of trees, which is suprising. The grass blades are actually rather small in polygons.

Thanks for the comments. I'll be doing more remakes of this particular image, mostly tweaking the trees, smoothing out that darn mushroom, and maybe adding more grass.

Late and slow as per usual I find myself once again echoing Horo. You could do with a few branches on the "burger bars", I see it now you have explained it but before that I was in the dark. Lighting is great, particulary the way it strikes the rocks in the foreground. I find the grass a bit too green... but other than those minor quibbles, fantastic. 5/5
