Desert Sunset
Description: Here's a back to basics image, a terrain and a sky (for the trainspotters amongst you the terrain is the same one I used for the glacial thaw image - lazy I know) the ground material took some time but you can barely see it (sigh) and the sky only really looks anything because of the extreame wideangle. Postwork (diffuse glow and lenzflair in photoshop7) gamma in PSP7. But I kinda liked the colours.

Sky

It needs courage to do a pic with 4/5 of it ?only? sky. Considering my experience of mostly messing up the sky, I envy your ability to do such a picture. The sky is incredible. And the landscape along with the lighting is superb, too. The lens flare spoils everything a bit -- but I might easily be the only one having this concern.

Another thing many should learn and adhere to is the acceptance of having part of the effort conceiled -- here the mat on the terrain by the light. Like an author having to skip much of what he's/she's written just to condense it. Or like Stephen R. Donaldson once said: Make liquor from beer.

Lens flare

I think instead of the lends flare, it would be kool if you put other planets in the sky about where the lens flares would be =)

even still.. picture is awesome!

To lens flair, or not to lens flair. Or is it flare? I don't know, I'm not one of natures spellers. I am a avid reader, and Stephen Donaldson is one of my favorite writers - but I digress pointlessly - here I like the idea of putting planets in the sky, I'll give that one a whorl, but I doubt it will come to anything because all my previous attempts at that effect have frankly been a bit pooh. But yes, it the lens flair was a compositional consideration, as I think Nightst4r detected, because otherwise the whole scene is a bit barren and devoid of focus. Anyhow thank you for your kind comments - and next time, no more lens flair, I promise.

Flair 4 flare

You have a flair to do flares and they look good -- if you like such things. Do not be overly concerned by my continuous qualms about them. Just keep up the good work -- I slowly get adicted to it (the good work, not your flair for flares).
